8 Tips to help you get past limiting beliefs by Natasha Dworkin

1. Recognize the Belief:
The first step is to become aware of the limiting belief that is holding you back. Pay attention to the thoughts and self-talk that arise when you feel blocked or discouraged.

2. Challenge the Belief:
Question the validity and truth of the limiting belief. Ask yourself if there is evidence to support it or if it is based on assumptions or past experiences. Challenge the belief by looking for alternative perspectives or counterexamples that contradict it.

3. Gather Supporting Evidence:
Collect evidence that contradicts the limiting belief and supports a more positive and empowering belief. Look for past achievements, moments of success, or feedback from others that showcase your capabilities and strengths.

4. Reframe the Belief:
Replace the limiting belief with a more empowering and realistic belief. Write down a positive affirmation or statement that counteracts the limiting belief. For example, if the belief is "I'm not good enough," reframe it as "I am capable, deserving, and worthy of success."

5. Practice Affirmations:
Repeat affirmations daily to reinforce positive beliefs and challenge limiting ones. Write down affirmations related to the areas where you struggle with limiting beliefs and repeat them regularly. This will help rewire your thought patterns and replace negative self-talk with positive and empowering messages.

6. Seek Support:
Share your limiting beliefs with a trusted friend, mentor, or therapist who can provide guidance, encouragement, and a fresh perspective. They can help you challenge and reframe your beliefs, offering support as you navigate through them.

7. Take Small Steps:
Break down your goals into small, manageable steps to build momentum and confidence. Each step forward will help challenge and weaken the hold of limiting beliefs. Celebrate your progress along the way, no matter how small.

8. Embrace Growth Mindset:
Adopt a growth mindset that recognizes that abilities and skills can be developed through effort and learning. Embrace the idea that you can overcome challenges and grow beyond your current limitations.

Remember, overcoming limiting beliefs takes time and effort. Be patient and compassionate with yourself as you work through them. Journaling can be a powerful tool to explore and challenge these beliefs, so utilize your journaling practice to gain insights and track your progress.
